Love heart

Hi everyone.

This heart is made for a love theme. This heart was recently bought for me to give it a make over.

Mr first step was to place some items on my heart to get an idea of where I was heading.

As always I take a photo so I know where to put the items back.

Next i wanted to give the small heart some texture, so i put some grunge paste through a stencil.

I next started to glue my items down and give the whole thing a coat of gesso.

I started to think the background needed something, so i stamped in black some words all around the heart and gave this a few coats of white fresco over the top.

I originally had the idea to paint the small heart red and the flowers with creams and browns. Well after painted the heart red and a few coats of browns to the flowers i scraped that idea as it was not going together well. So i decided on lilac fresco paint and vintage plum wax. 

These two colours were all that i used.

I gave all the embelishments a brush with my plum wax and before i glued my last few flowers in place i added some cheese cloth behind them.

I added a butterfly which had some lilac and plum added to it. 

Not bad for a £1 on sale heart!
