Love display box

Hi all,

Here is a little display box I decorated and made items to go inside.

I started off painting the box with Fresco French Roast paint, I then gave it all a small sanding down after, so some of the woods grain showed through.

Next i cut a sheet of prima paper to the size of the compartments and glued them down.

Then i stamped round all sides with a flour, to this i added some gem stones and a wooden heart which i had painted and covered with crackle glaze. I also glued a couple of keys to the top corners.

I then decided to add some small items to some of the compartments.

I made some bricks which were painted, to one side I added some of the same prima paper and added letters.

I done a similar thing to some heart shapes.

I also decorated a couple of small bottles and all these and a few other items were added to the box.

I hope you enjoyed looking.

Any comments are welcomed.

Book of Ruination

Hi all.

I have been looking for new ideas of craft items to try and that would suit my taste. After a while I stumbled across Andy Skinners work and really enjoyed his style, then found that he done online workshops that I could do in my own time and at my own pace.

So I decided to try The Book of Ruination course.

I must say it was a fantastic course and with step by steps instructions and videos to help. He also teaches you various techniques whichhelped me alot being fairly new to this kind of thing.

Obviously I wont reveal how my book was made but here are the photos of my finished book.

Altered bottle

Hi.

This is my first altered bottle.

I started off with a glass bottle and applied a coat of decoart texture bottle. I used a brush for this and dabbed the texture to get some peaks to appear.

While this was drying (a good few hours) I used fimo clay and a mold to make a poison sign for the front of the bottle.

This was glued to the bottle and i added some modeling paste to the back so it fitted the shape of the bottle.

I then added some string to the top of the bottle using glue.

This was then all painted and dry brushed using a few colours.

Here are some photos of my finished bottle.

Many thanks for taking time to have a look.

Love heart number 2

Hi everyone.

This is my new wooden love heart I made.

If you have seen my other blogs you will see I am really enjoying this type of craft.

I started with a wooden heart and started placing objects on the heart till I get the look I like.

As you will notice from my final piece the shape of the heart and other items have changed.

Next I put a grunge paste tree bark effect all over the heart.

To this i gave a white coat of fresco paint, then  started applying various coats of different blues starting off with the lightest.

To the outer edge i started getting darker with french roast and a small amount of black dress. To this I added a gold edge.

Next I decided to paint my items before I stuck them down to the heart Instead of after as i have done before.

These were painted with my blue fresco paints and finished off with some treasure gold (great product to use).

I then stuck down my flatter Items before i added an amount of cheese cloth which i had paint with gold fresco paint. Then the remainder of items were stuck on the cheese cloth with bits of the cloth appearing between my items.

I added a small heart on the left side which was painted and stuck on more of the gold chesse cloth

And my final finished heart...

Many thanks for looking.
